Refund Policy

 

Upon acceptance, students are required to submit a $300 tuition deposit to secure a place in the program. All students must pay the tuition deposit. The tuition deposit will be deducted from the overall program fee at the time of invoicing.

* For summer or winter sessions, exceptions could only be made for cases like, failure to get pre-course approval from their home university after April 30th or Nov 22 respectively.  Or in the case of force majeure, a refund may be issued for the net amount received by G-MEO. Any additional convenience or transaction fees that students are responsible for during the initial payment will not be refunded.

Payment in full is due by the deadline dates listed below:

For students paying their program fee using financial aid and/or scholarships from their home institutions which will be disbursed to either them or G-MEO after the start date of the program, please refer to G-MEO’s Financial Aid Agreement Form for instructions. Grades and Transcript Holds

G-MEO will not issue grades, release transcripts, provide any documentation of attendance or completion of the program until the student’s account has been paid in full.

Program Withdrawal and Deferral Policy

written notice¹ of withdrawal or deferral from a confirmed participant must be received by G-MEO in order for the refund policy to apply. Admitted students withdrawing their enrollment to G-MEO prior to the start of the term will receive a refund as follows:

For Semester (Fall/Spring)

Cancellation up to 3 months before program start date 100% refund excluding $300 deposit
Cancellation up to 2 months before program start date 50% refund excluding $300 deposit
Cancellation up to 1 month before program start date No refund

For Winter 

Cancellation up to 4 weeks before program start date 100% refund excluding $300 deposit
Cancellation up to 2 weeks before program start date 50% refund excluding $300 deposit
Cancellation after 2 weeks before program start date No refund after Nov 30th

For Summer (All Chengdu/Shanghai/Online Programs)

Cancellation before May 15 of program year 100% refund excluding $300 deposit
Cancellation between May 15 and June 1 of program year 50% refund excluding $300 deposit
Cancellation after June 1 of program year No refund

No refund shall be made for any failure of credit transfer due to Participants’ poor academic performance or Participants’ own decision of dropping a course after the add/drop deadline.

Admitted students may defer participation to a future term within 12 months. Should a student have paid a tuition deposit prior to giving written notice of deferral, the deposit will be applied to a future term provided the deferral is arranged before the payment deadline dates.

¹“Written notice” means notice given in accordance with any representation or words and letters in a perceivable form which may be delivered either as physical mail or e-mail. While WeChat or text messages serve as a convenient way for students to communicate with G-MEO staff, they are not acceptable as a formal written notice in this context.

Summer Program Add/Drop Policies

During the summer session, current students enrolled in two or three courses who drop a course(s) before the third day of class meetings as per G-MEO's summer add/drop policy will receive a 30% refund for the course dropped.  For any students intending to add one or two more courses as per G-MEO's summer add/drop policy will need pay additionally $1,800 per 3-credit course.

Students who fail to pay their student account in full will NOT receive their final transcript.

Summer Program Housing Policies

Housing fees for all Summer Programs will not be refunded. No housing changes may be made within 1 week of the program start date.
