G-MEO Study Abroad Programs
Our new programs to study in China are brought to you by Global Maximum Educational Opportunities, Inc. (G-MEO). G-MEO, headquartered in New York City, is a Delaware company founded in 2011 to increase substantially the number of US college students going abroad to China to study, including those in variety of majors and fields.
The co-founders, Dr. David C. Chang and Mr. Daniel Lou, were inspired when, in 2010, the Obama Administration established the State Department's 100,000 Strong Initiative. Its mission is to send 100,000 American students to study in China over the next four years.
Dr. Chang and Mr. Lou wanted to make a contribution to achieving this mission by making available more opportunities for US students to study in China in English, without necessarily having already studied Chinese, and attracting students from a broad variety of backgrounds.
G-MEO is dedicated to delivering China study abroad program options meeting the highest quality standards in a variety of locations, offering a wide array of courses in English, as well as Mandarin Chinese language training and hands-on learning such as internships and community service.
Dr. Chang is a renowned educator and civic leader in the United States and is currently Chancellor of NYU-Poly and former President of Polytechnic University of New York (POLY, now NYU-POLY). Mr. Lou is an entrepreneurial professional and former journalist. Under Dr. Chang's strategic and managerial guidance, G-MEO has recruited a world-class team of experienced professionals and educators to the Management Team and the International Advisory Board.
While G-MEO is a startup company funded by private investment, it has forged strategic relationships with the government, higher education and private sectors in both the US and China. Dr. Chang and Mr. Lou are grateful to the State Department's 100,000 Strong team, who have helped spread the word about G-MEO's new programs.
